WWII German SA Dagger — Aesculap
This SA dagger carries the Aesculap maker's mark — one of the most respected names in German cutlery production. Aesculap (B. Braun Melsungen) was primarily known for surgical instruments, but like many precision manufacturers, they produced edged weapons under Wehrmacht and party contracts during the Third Reich era. An Aesculap-marked SA dagger is a documented, attributable piece with a known production history.
The seven-image documentation of this dagger — covering the full piece, scabbard, blade, crossguard, grip, pommel, and maker's mark — reflects the level of detail serious collectors and dealers apply to significant pieces. Each image adds to the authentication record: the blade motto, the SA eagle, the grip material, and the maker stamp all contribute to establishing provenance.
SA daggers with documented maker attributions command a premium over anonymous examples. The Aesculap mark places this dagger within a specific production context and adds a layer of historical interest beyond the standard SA pattern.
