WW2 Luftwaffe Helmet
A WW2 Luftwaffe helmet documented in two views — the overall shell and a close-up of the eagle decal. The two-image documentation captures both the condition of the shell and the quality of the decal, which are the two primary factors collectors assess when evaluating a Luftwaffe helmet.
The Luftwaffe eagle decal is the most important feature of any Luftwaffe helmet. Applied at the factory as a water-slide transfer, the decal depicts the spread-wing Luftwaffe eagle and was positioned on the left side of the shell. Decals that have survived 80 years intact — without flaking, lifting, or significant loss — are the exception rather than the rule.
This example shows both the shell condition and the decal quality. The two views together give a complete picture of what the helmet offers — a solid Luftwaffe piece with its defining feature intact.
