WW2 German M35 Luftwaffe Helmet

Personal collection — not for sale

The M35 was the first standardised German steel helmet of the Nazi era — introduced in 1935 and distinguished by its distinctive rolled and flanged rim, which was simplified in the later M40 pattern. M35 Luftwaffe helmets are earlier and rarer than M40 examples, and finding one with the Luftwaffe eagle decal intact is increasingly difficult.

The M35 shell was produced with a higher dome profile than the later M40 and M42 patterns, and the liner system used a different attachment method. These details allow experienced collectors to identify the model at a glance. The Luftwaffe blue-grey finish on M35 helmets is often better preserved than on later examples, as the earlier production runs used higher-quality paint.

This M35 Luftwaffe example is a genuine pre-war or early-war piece — the starting point of the Luftwaffe helmet collecting sequence and a historically significant item in any collection.
