WWII M40 Luftwaffe Helmet — Salty but Complete

A salty, but complete M40 German Luftwaffe helmet. "Salty" means heavy field wear — significant paint loss, surface oxidation, the honest deterioration of a helmet that was used hard and stored long. "Complete" means the shell, liner, and chinstrap are all present — nothing is missing, nothing has been replaced.

The combination of salty condition and completeness is actually quite specific in the market. A salty helmet that has lost its liner or chinstrap is a common find; a salty helmet that is still complete — all original components present — is less common. The wear confirms authenticity; the completeness confirms nothing has been stripped or replaced.

This M40 is exactly what it says: salty but complete. For collectors who want an authentic, unrestored Luftwaffe helmet with all its original components, this is the piece.
