German Wound Badge

A WW2 German Wound Badge awarded to soldiers who were wounded in combat. The badge was issued in three grades — black (one or two wounds), silver (three or four wounds), and gold (five or more wounds, or permanent disability).

Wound badges are among the most personal of all WW2 German decorations — each one represents a soldier's sacrifice. This example is in good condition.
